Introduction
The Bachelor of Information Science is a specialized undergraduate programme focused on the collection, organization, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information across various formats and platforms. The programme blends aspects of library science, information systems, records management, knowledge management and digital technologies.
Students gain skills in information organization, database management, digital archiving, research methods and emerging information technologies. The programme emphasizes the strategic role of information in supporting decision-making, innovation and development in organizations and society at large.
It prepares graduates to manage both traditional and digital information resources in academic, corporate, government and non-profit sectors.
Admission Requirements
- Minimum mean Grade of C +(plus) at KCSE with a C (plain) in Mathematics and English/Kiswahili, OR;
- Two- year KNEC Diploma Credit holders in Information related field, OR; IMIS Diploma holders, OR;
- Any other Diploma recognized by University Senate
