Kabarnet University College and Baringo County Government Sign Memorandum of Cooperation to Foster Research, Innovation, and Community Impact

Kabarnet University College and the Baringo County Government have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), marking a significant milestone in the partnership between academia and government for sustainable development and evidence-based policymaking.

The collaboration seeks to leverage the strengths of both institutions to improve the livelihoods of communities across Baringo County. Under the MoC, the two partners will focus on jointly designing and implementing research projects aligned with county development priorities, exchanging data, expertise, and technical support to strengthen decision-making, and organising workshops, training programmes, and public engagement forums to build local capacity.

The partnership will also work to develop competitive research proposals to attract external funding, produce and disseminate policy briefs, research reports, and academic publications, and establish a framework for sharing facilities and resources to support innovation and learning.

Speaking on the occasion, both institutions expressed commitment to fostering innovation, promoting research-driven solutions, and building a partnership that contributes meaningfully to the socio-economic transformation of Baringo County.

Kabarnet University College reaffirms its role as a civic institution dedicated not only to academic excellence but to the active development of the region it serves. This partnership with the Baringo County Government is a bold step toward a future where knowledge and governance work together — and where the people of Baringo County are the ultimate beneficiaries.
