Kabarnet University College Holds Council and Senior Management Induction Programme to Strengthen Leadership and Governance


Kabarnet University College has successfully concluded its Council and Senior Management Induction Programme held from June 15th to June 18th, 2026, marking an important journey in strengthening institutional leadership, governance, and strategic direction.

As a constituent college of Moi University, Kabarnet University College continues to uphold its commitment to excellence, accountability, transparency, and effective governance in the management of higher education institutions.

The four-day induction programme brought together Council members and senior management for a series of high-level engagements, interactive sessions, and expert-led presentations aimed at enhancing leadership capacity and aligning institutional practices with best practices in public service and corporate governance.

The programme focused on key thematic areas critical to effective institutional leadership, including:

Strategic Leadership and Governance
Participants explored principles of effective board leadership through discussions on “Boards that Deliver,” the Mwongozo Code of Conduct, and legal frameworks guiding the operations of State Corporations and public institutions.

Ethics, Integrity and Institutional Security
The sessions emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, integrity, accountability, and strengthening protective security measures to safeguard institutional resources and government assets.

Financial and Operational Oversight
Council and senior management members gained insights into Public Finance Management, financial reporting, risk management, and the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Frameworks to support prudent resource utilization and operational efficiency.

Institutional Growth and Performance Excellence
The programme also addressed areas including official protocol, corporate branding, human resource optimization, performance management, and effective board evaluation strategies aimed at driving continuous institutional improvement.
