The University College has received more than 537 student chairs from the School Equipment Production Unit (SEPU) as part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the learning environment for its growing student population.
The consignment was received by the Deputy Principal, Finance & Administration, Prof. Cheboi, together with senior members of staff. The chairs will be deployed across the University to support teaching and learning as the institution continues to accommodate an increasing number of students.
The latest consignment comes at an important time, following the admission of close to 800 new students in the second cohort of the 2026/2027 academic year. The additional furniture will help address the increasing demand for appropriate learning facilities across the institution.
The University Management expressed its appreciation to the School Equipment Production Unit (SEPU) for fulfilling its commitment to deliver the chairs at a time when they are most needed. Management noted that the timely delivery demonstrates the value of the continued cooperation between the University and SEPU in supporting infrastructure development and improving the learning environment.
The partnership has also contributed to other significant infrastructure developments at the University. Recently, SEPU completed the construction of science laboratories at the institution, which are currently being utilized by Bachelor of Science students for practical learning and academic activities.

An additional consignment of chairs is also expected to be delivered in due course, further supporting the University’s efforts to keep pace with its expanding student population.
