Kabarnet University College, a Constituent College of Moi University, has entered a defining moment in its institutional journey following the official appointment of a new University Council by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba, through Gazette Notice No. 17359 dated 28th November 2025.
In the notice, the Cabinet Secretary appointed Prof. Benson Estambale as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council. He further appointed Prof. Alfred Kibor, Anthony Mutembei, Hussein Farah, and Millicent Too Chemutai as Council Members, all to serve for a three-year term effective 28th November 2025.
This new Council marks an important leadership transition, one that comes at a time when Kabarnet University College is steadily positioning itself as a rising centre of academic excellence and community-focused scholarship in the North Rift region. The leadership of the institution has expressed confidence that the newly appointed Council will provide strategic direction, strong governance, and renewed momentum for growth. The newly appointed Council is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding long-term planning, resource mobilization, and policy direction as Kabarnet University College continues to grow and advance its mission.
Speaking on behalf of the institution, the Ag. Principal, Prof. Daniel Chebutuk Rotich, conveyed warm congratulations to the incoming Council and affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting them as they assume their mandate. He noted that the entire Management Board looks forward to working closely with the Council to strengthen academic programmes, enhance research capacity, expand infrastructure development, and deepen community engagement and commence both industry and external linkages.
The inauguration of the new Council is scheduled to take place soon, marking the official commencement of their term in office. This ceremony will symbolize not only a leadership transition but also Kabarnet University College’s continued dedication to institutional excellence, accountability, and transformative education.
